Carmel Camilleri

Degree in Progress

Research Interests

Carmel is a 4th-year psychology student and Lab Coordinator in the PASER Lab. He is fascinated with how particular attitudes towards statistics can predict various behaviours, such as the likelihood of following open science practices and one's willingness to enhance their statistical learning. Carmel is interested in investigating these research questions among a variety of populations. When Carmel is not studying or conducting research, you can find him reading fiction or doing hot yoga.

Gabriel Crone

Degree in Progress

Research Interests

Gabriel is a fourth year psychology student at York University. He joined the PASER lab in 2021, where he assisted with administrative work, data cleaning, and qualitative coding. Through this work, he has become fascinated with how statistics are taught at the undergraduate level. In the future, as a potential graduate student, he wishes to conduct research regarding the role that statistical software plays in the introductory statistics classroom, as well as its relationship with students’ attitudes and anxieties towards statistics. During his time as an undergraduate, he has also acquired several quantitative-related research interests: the historical trends in p-value reporting, contemporary issues with statistical reporting practices in psychology, and the prevalence of effect size reporting in sophisticated statistical techniques (e.g., structural equation modeling).
