Research Interests

Laura is a graduate student in the psychological science program at TMU and joined the PASER Lab in June 2022. She is interested in studying how statistical literacy, attitudes towards statistics, self-efficacy in learning statistics, and statistics anxiety vary among post-secondary students at different degree levels and in different fields of study. Her master’s thesis focused on developing a short-form version of the Basic Literacy In Statistics (BLIS-3) assessment (Ziegler, 2014) using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Item Response Theory (IRT). When she's not PhD-ing, you can find Laura perfecting her chocolate chip cookie recipe, taking a last-minute road trip, or curating an overly specific themed playlist.
